The next meeting of Lothian Bipolar Group will be on Thursday, 2nd November (7-9pm) at the Stafford Centre, 103 Broughton St, Edinburgh EH1 3RZ. Special Guest Speaker for the night is Arlene Astley who is a Welfare Reform Advocacy Worker with Advocard. Given all the chaos and confusion over Universal Credit, PIP and other wonderful Govt inventions, this might be a a good chance to see if Arlene can help shed some light on the Govt’s welfare and benefits ‘strategy’. Many people who live with mental health issues rely on benefits but the uncertainty, confusion (and general parsimony) of the welfare system is also a big source of anxiety and stress for many. No referral needed to attend the group – anyone with an interest in bipolar (including friends, family, carers) very welcome to attend… and it’s free!
